  The comfortable facilities paired with friendly, knowledgeable and personal approach exceeded my expectations. I am so appreciative for the support I received leading up to, during and post the birth of my first baby - huge thank you to all the midwifes for making my experience such a positive one!

  The staff at the emergency department were fantastic. Being work related injury, I was seen to immediately. Broken bone patched up and home within a few hours. Outpatients and the fracture clinic needs some organization as it seemed to take all day and no one inform as to how long waits would be.

  The experience was pretty great. Apart from my straight-shooter nurse on the ward (who was actually nice deep down lol) all the staff were incredible. They kept me informed all along the way and really put me at ease. The surgeon could see I was very nervous as they were prepping me and made an extra effort to make me feel comfortable.

  Have required to go to Box Hill hospital on numerous occasions and still the services there are inadequate or the doctors and nurses their simply do not want to provide the service. I was in a car accident and admitted myself because my doctor said I needed an emergency CT scan. I did not have to wait too long to get checked in because it was quiet (thankfully) but from their it was a downhill battle. When directed to a bed, I was assigned a nurse but I did not know what was going on. All I was told was that I was to be given medication but I did not know for how long and whether or not a CT scan was happening. I informed nurses and my doctor I had pain throughout my neck, chest and shoulders (why my doctor wanted a CT scan done) yet it was not happening. The doctor checked my x-ray and said it was fine and left, still not letting me know if a CT scan was getting done. By this time it had been about an hour and had been given panadol and other pain relief medication. I was confused by what was happening and since I was unable to move, I could not go get attention myself so I had to wait for either my nurse or doctor to come see me. My nurse was more frequent than me doctor, but having said that, I waited over 40 minutes to be able to talk to a nurse. She informed me that my the doctor was weighing up all the options before for the CT scan. Having said that, I had already been waiting around 2 hours and still having on-going pain. Another hour passed and still no CT scan. The frustration and pain was getting worse. I asked my nurse for my doctor so I can finally get an explanation from a doctor. She said she will get him right away but no surprise, nor the doctor or she returned (I believe the nurses shift had ended which is why she never returned). Finally the doctor came around (this is about hour 4- 5 now) where he finally told me no CT scan is going to be done. He instead gave me more medication for pain relief that made me feel ill. At that point I had enough. I was stuck with no food (I had asked them for something to eat when I got in and they finally gave me a four sandwiches after the 3rd hour and multiple times asking), and no attention. I can go on about my experience because this is not an isolated event. At no point did I feel relief from my pain and the amount of medication they gave me caused me to feel numbness in my body, migranes and vomiting. If you can avoid going to this hospital, do so, but if you have no option, I wish you the best of luck.

  I went to Box Hill for a very straight forward surgery to fix the mess that was created after birthing my daughter at Sunshine Hospital (note: NEVER have a baby at Sunshine!!!!).
